EARTHQUAKE CLOUDS AND
SHORT TERM PREDICTION

Introduction of "Earthquake Vapor, a reliable precursor"

- September 8, 2006 -

"Earthquake Vapor, a reliable precursor" is my new article. In early 2005, the European Geosciences Union (EGU) invited me to its Workshop in Vienna, 24-29 April 2005. Unable to go, did I submit this article instead. The EGU reviewed its abstract and experts of Dr. Saumitra Mukherjee reviewed the whole paper. Dr. Saumitra Mukherjee himself selected and edited it in Book Earthquake Prediction, 21-51 (ed. Mukherjee, Saumitra. Brill Academic Publisher, Leiden -Boston, 2006) [1].

This paper corrects a mistake of the time of my Bam earthquake prediction to the public in Bam Earthquake Prediction & Space Technology [2] (Bam Paper). The West Coast Time "24-Dec-2003 16:58" [3] is not "17:58 (UTC) of 20031225", but "0:58 (UTC) of 20031225" .

This paper cites a great demonstration of water penetration by nature diamond. It proposes and cites many new excellent facts for high temperatures and high pressures before large earthquakes. Figure 2 without color may become difficult to understand, so I show its original image here[4]. This paper systematically introduces how to distinguish an earthquake cloud from weather clouds with more examples.

This paper gives evidence to show causes of error of my predictions. It proposes earthquake data problems, especially the serious systematic error, and a suggestion to solve this problem. This paper is long, so I am not going to scan and show it in our web site. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Saumitra Mukherjee for selecting and publishing this paper.
